The year might be halfway over, but it has been packed with some of the most innovative interior design trends we’ve seen in a long time. One design category that has been especially eye-opening: color. From new, warmer neutrals to an unexpected accent hue, this is our 2017 Mid-Year Trend Report on the year’s most colorful design ideas…so far.

NEUTRAL PALETTES ARE WARMING UP

So far in 2017, however, the new neutrals are getting much warmer. We’re pretty sure we can thank mid-century and bohemian-inspired decor for the range of beiges, browns, and creams that we’ve been spotting everywhere.

COLOR PSYCHOLOGY IS KEY

There’s a spike in interest about the psychology of color and how to use certain paint colors to inspire different moods, from joy to productivity.

 

TROPICAL GREEN EVERYTHING

Pantone called it: green is definitely the defining color of 2017. Tropical versions of the shade are a favorite so far this year, from palmtree patterns to statement green furniture.
