The Draperistas: We’re changing lives one window at a time!

Our company magic starts with founders Gary and Cory, who were sweethearts in Jr. High School and didn’t meet again until their 20’s, when a friend suggested to Cory that she knew the perfect guy for her – who turned out to be Gary! Through our creative designs, we’ve extended the fairy tale to our customers, who have always been treated like family. Our business has provided great ideas, top-notch service and expertise in window treatments for decades – but now, there’s a fresh new vibe at Jacoby Company and we want you to know that we’re growing and expanding in exciting ways! Here’s a little more about our team:

Cory Jacoby is dedicated to understanding just what our customers want and need and how to make it work with their lifestyle. A Los Angeles native, Cory understands what makes life different and exceptional in Southern California. From the wonderful weather to the diversity of our city’s architecture, Cory has been changing lives for the better, one window at a time since the 1980’s. She’s got a gift for clearing the chaos and helping people to discover all the little details that make their lives better, simpler and more beautiful. She loves to create acres of elegance, but can also break a job down one element at a time so you can take all the time you need to create the look that works for you. Cory’s passionate about color and how it can change the energy and tone of your space.

She seems to know, intuitively, just what is needed and can show you exactly what looks best. She cares about the quality and style our company brings to your home and is not satisfied until you are delighted by the results.

 

Gary Jacoby

CFO & Conceptual Engineer & Fabricator

Gary Jacoby first started Jacoby Company selling blinds door to door in the late 1970’s. From the earliest days of Jacoby Company, Gary saw the need for high quality, personalized service combined with the ability of a skilled tradesman to make it all work. He really knows the business of draperies and window treatment design – including what will make every type of material and hardware look and last its best for years to come. …and Jacoby Company has been growing great referrals ever since. Gary’s business philosophy was to always treat customers like family and from day one he has done just that. He is a master at providing the kind of service that lets you feel completely secure about having work done in your home or business as most of our clients just leave us a key so he can work without them being there. While Cory and Bree create beautiful designs for our customers, it’s Gary who envisions exactly how to make all the ideas (and hardware!) work smoothly together. If something needs to be changed, he’ll tell you that too. He believes in the use of solid, American-made products that will last and last. Reliable, strong and beautiful in every way – that’s the way Gary does business. As a result of his skills and commitment to quality, Jacoby Company has worked with many of the top designers in Los Angeles and Southern California – who are some of our best repeat customers.

 

Bree Jacoby

Director of Marketing and Assistant Designer

Cory and Gary have added daughter Bree Jacoby to the mix and the results are nothing short of spectacular! A talented stylist and retail store manager for high end boutiques in the fashion industry, we’re delighted that Bree has joined Jacoby Company as our new Marketing Director and Assistant Designer. She’s hotwired into social media, and the fashion blogosphere, and brings the youthful energy and style of New York Fashion Week to our meticulous craftsmanship. Bree was born into this business, but wanted to hone her design chops in fashion. So, after graduating from Cal State University Northridge with a degree in Apparel Merchandising, Interior Design and Marketing, she worked as a stylist and in retail management for 5 years before letting us in on a little secret – she’d always wanted to join the family business! She has a passion for both the marketing and creative sides of Jacoby Company and is helping us grow our interior designer business.

With her connections to the creative worlds of the fashion and design, she has an ability to create a high-low mix of vintage and cutting edge pieces, along with a “sixth sense” for red-hot trends that keeps Jacoby Company inspired, and, we think, inspiring. She’s the “next generation” of Jacoby Company and we’re thrilled she’s filling our shoes and then some.

With a combination of European savoir fair, East Coast innovation, and drop-dead gorgeous, Californian natural beauty, we are working together to make your life more elegant, functional and fabulous than ever before. Tricia Palacios

Office Manager

Tricia, our Office Manager joined Jacoby Company in 2009 and never looked back! She is the glue that the company needed and runs a tight ship from making all of our appointments, handling production along with Gary, and supervises and manages all installations. She is more than an office manager, she is our family.. The Jacoby Company family.

Her history is hilarious! She grew up in the business- if you can believe that! Her father is a professional window treatment installer and her Mom was a coordinator and sales representative for another friendly window covering business. Mom is now retired and her dad is not far behind! Through them she learned everything from manufacturing to installations- she has even done some installations for our company. Really, she is a pitch hitter— she does it all.

Being you are going to meet Tricia first when you call, be prepared for a very friendly knowledgeable woman who will be at your beck and call when you need her.

Ever since we got our fairytale ending, we’ve been sharing the magic with our family of customers. We’ve been partners in everything ever since that day…and now, with our talented daughter, Bree, and our fabulous office manager, Trish, our team just keeps getting better at creating dreams come true.
